read a lot about phil spector last night.

this one is so good.

the snapping started and i was hooked.

classic spector sound, and too catchy.

The Ronettes hung around with The Beatles when they toured England. The Ronettes were supposed to ride in the jet with The Beatles the day they landed in America for the first time the legendary day they touched down and kicked off “Beatlemania”. The mother of singers Ronnie & Estelle suggested it would be good publicity for The Ronettes, who were pretty big at the time to be seen coming back from overseas with the Beatles, but their producer Phil Spector, who was dating lead singer Ronnie Bennett forbid it since John Lennon had a crush on Ronnie.

The Ronettes said they were shocked & angry to see Phil steal their photo op & step out of the jet with The Beatles that day.
